Rescuing July
"Baby July" (pronounced Julie) is the littlest sister in the Rescue Children family. July's mother abandoned her when she was an infant, leaving her in the care of an older neighbor. This woman had no means to care for July. She was on her way to a local garbage dump, were she planned to leave the baby. But a Rescue Children staff member overheard these desperate plans. Thankfully, the orphanage was able to take in July.

Days at Rescue Children Orphanage begin with Scripture reading, prayer time, and daily chores. Then it is time for school. Each of the older children attends a private school. The children enjoy grammar, mathematics, history, geography, English, French, Haitian Creole, life skills, and a Bible class. The children also receive vocational training. Most of these children never attend school before coming to Rescue Children. The evening is closed out with a time of thanksgiving and praise. The Rescue Children family also attends an off-site weekly worship service and Bible study.

Vision
"We firmly believe they are training our children to become leaders and make a positive impact on the society here in Haiti," the Rescue Children board of Advisers stated. With vocational training and leadership development, these children will be equipped to serve their future communities. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. This small nation just a few hundred miles from the United States has been plagued by political violence and now the AIDS/HIV crisis. The children of this orphanage are prayerfully, intentionally equipped to serve their nation and impact its future.
